Hello World in 2008 or The Garden Scheers makes its first cut

Hi all,

This is part of our New Year's resolution for 2008; to have our very own BLOG. Yes, I know we are on the back-end of the technology curve, but going down the back side of a hill can be fun. It doesn't matter whether we are going up or down, as long as we just keep moving forward.

How about that title? The Garden Scheers. Nice, yes? I call it punny and poignant. Oh, c'mon, gardens contain things that grow. What better metaphor for a blog. And Scheers (as in scissors), for pruning, contouring, encouraging, heightening, shaping, guiding ... Sorry, you get the message. Anyway, several other choices where up for consideration, like Pinking Scheers. But I think you can imagine where that one was headed. I also considered Scheer energy. I was called that for most of my formidable years by the kids in my neighborhood. I couldn't walk down the street without hearing "Hey, Scheer Energy." So let's leave that name buried with the past because pantyhose and painful childhood memories are not a good mix (most late baby boomers will understand that last sentence).

What is our blog about you ask (or not)? It is about nothing and about everything. Whatever pops into our heads is publishing fodder. We are just going to drift from one random thought to another. Perhaps all this meandering will result in some meaningful but accidental journey that will teach us a new thing or two about ourselves and about others. And who knows, maybe we will make some friends along the way.
